Our List of Volunteer Options
The volunteer options listed on this page are generally those that you can do from home when you have some available time. They range from writing postcards to targeted voters, to texting potential voters about registering to vote and important upcoming Democratic events.
Review the list below to find the volunteer option(s) that are the best fit for you.

Write to Voters
This option entails writing and mailing postcards & letters by regular mail to prospective Democratic voters to motivate them to vote. The created mailings can also potentially be used to educate voters on how to request a mail-in or absentee ballot. Depending on the specific volunteer option selected, this work may entail writing by hand and/or typing on a computer. For communications created using a computer, you will also need a printer.

This postcard writing initiative has already completed the sign-ups for the 36 million postcards that it wanted to create in 2024. For those who still want to volunteer through this worthwhile initiative, you can still:

Vote Forward’s flagship voter contact program trains and supports volunteers in creating a personal, heartfelt template that's then used to write letters to potential voters with an easy-to-use online platform. The majority of Vote Forward's letter writing campaigns are nonpartisan (“Social”) campaigns, which focus on mobilizing potential voters in communities that have historically been marginalized in the political process—such as people of color, women, and young voters. Vote Forward also supports partisan campaigns (“Political”) to encourage likely-Democratic voters to turn out in strategic states and districts. [Minimal technology skills needed.]

Each election year, Sierra Club Independent Action digs deep and goes local in key states where its amazing volunteers can make an impact and elect the climate and justice champions we need. Together, we must ensure that every level of government, from school boards to the White House, is led by climate and justice champions who will stop the destruction of our natural resources, and prioritize investments in the low-income and BIPOC communities who bear the unequal burdens of climate change. Letter writing is normally undertaken by Sierra Club Independent Action to register potential voters. This is a great option if you place a high priority on addressing climate change and want to work for candidates who feel the same way. [Minimal technology skills needed.]

Digital Correspondence
Our team is focused on meeting people where they are, cultivating relationships with supporters and voters via email, text, and chat. Being a part of the Digital Correspondence Teams includes having 1:1 conversations with supporters by using thoughtful, innovative responses that meet users where they are, addresses questions or concerns, and translates Democratic wins and messaging through email, peer-to-peer texting, and broadcast text messages. [Strong technology skills needed.]

Online Engagement
As a volunteer, you’ll receive all the tools and resources necessary to become an online messenger for Biden Harris and Democrats. Using our tool Reach, you’ll receive on message graphics and content to share with your personal social media networks. Together, we can reach new audiences, counter misinformation, and tout the accomplishments of the Biden Harris Administration and Democrats across the country. [Strong technology skills needed.]
Volunteer Locally
If you live in a presidential swing state or a state with a crucial Democratic senate or house race, consider volunteering for a Democratic party office in your town, county, or state. These offices will have volunteer tasks that you can assist with from home. Here is a list of state democratic party websites. You can also find county or town Democratic party websites by doing an internet search. If you need any assistance in finding these organizations, Choose Blue can help you with that effort. Just email us at chooseblueinfo@gmail.com.
Fundraise
Contact family, friends, and acquaintances by text, email, phone, Facebook, or in person for the purpose of raising funds for Democratic candidates. This may seem like the dreaded "cold calling", but raising funds for Democrats might be easier than you think, especially if you have a big network of Democratic-leaning friends. Democrats are really motivated to retain and increase their power at the national level right now, and you may find that your family and friends are more than willing to donate to make that goal a reality. If you decide you want to fundraise, create a strong, positive pitch - written or verbal - before you make contact. And set a goal for how many donations you want to make happen and for the total amount you want to achieve.
Refer a Friend
Refer a family member or friend to Choose Blue so they can volunteer using the information on this website and communicate with other like minded people to help elect national Democratic candidates. Send them a link to the Choose Blue website (www.chooseblue.info) or email Choose Blue with their contact information and we will follow up with them by email.
